CSV tool

Check a CSV before you trust it

Validation here means a readable report of structural problems: quotes, width, headers, blanks, duplicates, encoding, and formula-like text.

Drop a CSV here

Comma, semicolon, tab, or pipe. Quotes, commas, and line breaks inside a cell stay intact. The file is read here and is not saved on the server.

Up to 32 MB. Files over 8.0 MB ask before parsing.

What the report covers

  • Unclosed quotes and other parser warnings, with the row number the parser reported.
  • Short rows, which are padded with empty cells so the grid stays rectangular. The padding is disclosed. Cells are not dropped.
  • Blank headers and repeated header names.
  • A replacement character from the wrong encoding.
  • Cells that start like spreadsheet formulas. Protection stays off until download.

This is not a schema validator. It will not check that a column matches a database type or that an email has an MX record. It will tell you when the file is unsafe to clean blindly. Start with the report, then open the matching cleanup only if the issue is one you meant to fix.
